On May 31st- June 2nd, 2021the All-Ukrainian Forum "Ukraine 30. Education and Science" was held. Oleksii Miroshnychenko, Executive Vice President of the Employers Confederation of Ukraine, took part in this Forum.
In his speech related to the big business need for continuous professional development of its employees, Oleksii Miroshnychenko focused on the following key issues: career guidance for youth, TVETprestige; adult education and public-private partnership in the education system.
"Ukraine's economy, just like, actually, many countries in the world, needs significantly more high-skilled workers than specialists with academic degree.Globally this ratio is kept somewhere between 60%/ 40% or 70%/ 30%. For some reason we have an established mindset that academic degree obtained at university is a must for everyone and this so-called “social elevator” will make you wealthy and successful. But we need to reveal all the benefits of engineering, design, chemistry, biology, agriculture, aerospace industry and, of course, IT with guarantee of employment, decent wages and career growth” - noted the Executive Vice President of the Confederation, presenting the youth career guidance mechanisms.
