The Confederation of Employers of Ukraine has launched the initiative to create the national network "Business for the Employment of People with Disabilities" with further joining the ILO Global Business Disability Network.
This decision was adopted by the Council of the Confederation of Employers on September 25, 2023 after the presentation of the "Together" project, which was implemented by the Confederation with the support of the International Labor Organization.
The main principles of the National Network are defined as:
respect for the efforts of the members of the National Network aimed at ensuring compliance with the rights and opportunities of persons with disabilities in the field of work;
provision of equal access to members of the National Network to the information, analytics and other materials in the field of ensuring compliance with the rights and opportunities of persons with disabilities in the field of work;
ensuring equal opportunities for members of the National Network in sharing their own experience in the field of ensuring compliance with the rights and opportunities of persons with disabilities in the field of work, in particular, during relevant international events.
As noted by the Executive Director of the Confederation, Oksana Medvedska, "The "Together" project consists of a practical guide for employers regarding the employment of persons with disabilities, an information and consultation platform, an analytical system, examples of international experience, and videos with the best practices of employment of persons with disabilities by Ukrainian companies."
"We called the project "Together" because the employment of persons with disabilities is an issue that must be resolved by three parties: the state, business and employees with disabilities," said Oleksii Miroshnychenko, President of the Confederation of Employers of Ukraine.
According to the Council’s decision, the creation of the national network "Business for the Employment of Persons with Disabilities" will contribute to the strengthening of the labour potential of Ukraine, which is so necessary during the post-war reconstruction of the country.
