Oleg Shevchuk

Shevchuk Oleg Borysovych is a Vice President of the Confederation of Employers of Ukraine. He was born on January 2, 1968 year in Kyiv. Education and research 1987 year - Oleg Shevchuk graduated with honors from the Kyiv College of Communications,1994 year - he completed his degree at Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv in radiophysics.2000 year - Ph.D. defense on "Risk Management of Investment Projects".From 2004 to 2006 year he was a doctoral student at the Institute for Economics and Forecasting of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, with the dissertation on "The Economic Essence of the Information Society Establishment".Oleg Shevchuk is the author and co-author of many research papers and publications, in particular such books as: “E-Ukraine. Information Society in Ukraine: To Be or Not to Be ” (2001) E-Government (2001) Green Ukraine (2002) "Age of Judgment: Informatization, Globalization, Terrorism and the Near Future of Humanity", etc. From 1988 to 1989 year - conscription in the armed forces, signals troops. Since 1990 he has been involved in politics and elected the Deputy of the Kyiv City Council. He became an active participant in the Green Movement in Ukraine. He was a member of the leadership of the Green Party of Ukraine until 2006. From 1990 to 1996 year he performed in entrepreneurship activities in various spheres of economy. From 1990 to 1996 year – the Founder and the Chairman of the Board of the “Obrii” Group of Companies. From 1996 to 1998 – the Deputy Director General of Ukrtelecom. Since 1996 he has been actively involved in the development of the employers' movement. From 1997 to 2004 year – the Vice President of the Ukrainian League of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs. In 1998 he founded the Telecom Club, a non-governmental organization of participants in the telecommunications market. From March 1998 to February 2000 – the People's Deputy of Ukraine of the 3rd convocation, First Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Construction, Transport and Communications. From 1999 to 2001 year – Oleg Shevchuk headed the State Committee for Communications and Informatization of Ukraine. Since 2001 he has been returning to business, his area of interest is the ICT market. At the same time, he created and headed one of the first branch employers' organizations in Ukraine - the All-Ukrainian Association of Employers in the sphere of Telecommunications and Information Technologies, and the non-governmental research organization – the Information Society Institute of Ukraine, that dealt with the actualization of the information society, e-government and digital democracy development problems. From October 2007 to 2012 – the People's Deputy of Ukraine of the 6th convocation, First Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Social Policy and Labor, the author of more than 40 administration bills. From March 2014 to November 2014 – the People's Deputy of Ukraine of the 7th convocation, the member of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Transport and Communications. Since 2012 – The President of the Confederation of Employers of Ukraine, and since December 2021 – the Vice President of the Confederation. AwardsOrder of Merit of the III degree (November 1998). Laureate of the State Prize of Ukraine in the field of science and technology (2000).
